Detrital Zircon Age Constraints on the Evolution of Paleo‐Tethys in NE Iran: Implications for Subduction and Collision Tectonics

چکیده
The timings of the onset oceanic spreading, subduction and collision are crucial in plate reconstructions, but not always straightforward to resolve. Paleo-Tethys evolution dominated Paleozoic-Early Mesozoic tectonics West Asia, timeline events is still poorly constrained. We present new detrital zircon ages from Binalud Mountains NE Iran, order determine timing tectonic region, wider implications for regional tectonics, paleogeography climate change. Consistent age patterns Paleozoic clastic rocks show a dominant provenance Neoproterozoic basement northern Gondwana. interpret this as deposition on long-lasting passive continental margin after initial spreading Ocean. Central Iran-Eurasia caused coarse Mashhad Phyllite peripheral foreland basin sequence Iran Block. yields clusters at 450–250 Ma 1,900–1,800 Ma, with clear long-lived arc active Eurasian since latest Ordovician. Analysis spectra allows us constrain maximum depositional no later than 228 Ma. This provides tight constraint between Eurasia, which also coincides Carnian Pluvial Event (CPE). Our evidence reinforces previous speculation closure causal mechanism CPE.

Kashmar granitoids of Taknar zone, in north part of Lut block, intruded into volcanic rocks and consist of granites, granodiorites, monzodiorite and gabbrodiorites. They are composed of mainly plagioclase, alkali-feldspar, quartz, amphibole, biotite and pyroxene minerals. on translation of politeness strategies in dialogues involving female characters in translations and retranslations of novels translated before and after the islamic revolution of iran and their effects on the image of women: a polysystem theory approach
abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...
two-sided asymmetric subduction; implications for tectonomagmatic and metallogenic evolution of the lut block, eastern iran
west directed subduction zones show common characteristics, such as low structural elevation, deep trench, steep slab and a conjugate back-arc basin that are opposite to those of the east directed subduction zones. the tectonomagmatic and metallogenic setting of the lut block is still a matter of debate and several hypotheses have been put forward. despite some authors denying the influence of ...
